The construction of the second railway track at the Dostyk – 19 crossing and three receiving and sending tracks at the 19 crossing in the Alakol district of the Almaty region has begun.

Currently, work is underway to prepare the soil for laying the second track. More than 110,000 cubic meters of earth were dumped. The construction of a reinforced concrete railway bridge is also underway, reports railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to KTZ.

At Dostyk station, construction and installation works are being carried out on the construction of the ground for re-laying of station tracks. At the №19 junction, preparations are being made for the installation of external power supply poles.

More than 80 people and 45 units of special equipment (motor graders, bulldozers, soil rollers, dump trucks, excavators, truck cranes) are involved in the works.

The development of the Dostyk-Moyinty section is part of a large-scale project to modernize the Dostyk-Aktogay-Moyinty-Zharik-Zhezkazgan-Saksaulskaya-Kandyagash-Aktobe-Iletsk railway transport corridor.

The project is implemented within the framework of the state program of infrastructural development “Nurly Zhol” for 2020 – 2025, which corresponds to the strategic objectives of the state for the development of the national railway network of Kazakhstan, has social and economic significance.

Implementation of the project will increase the speed of trains, increase the capacity of the main transit corridor of Kazakhstan on the route China-Europe.
