Signalman from Kazakhstan received a Grammy

Kazakh railroad worker and 20-year-old DJ Imanbek Zeykenov received a Grammy statuette in the “Best Remix” nomination. This became known on March 15 during the online ceremony for the 63rd Music Awards of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States, informs railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to “Gudok”.

He received the award for the remix of the song Roses by the American rapper SAINt JHN. The track in its version has spent more than 20 weeks in a row in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. In addition, the remix entered the top 10 of Apple Music, and in the Shazam music app has received more than 22 million views.

“When I was nominated for the Grammy, the guys who are acquainted with music, said that my track would win absolutely,” said Imanbek Zeykenov. He learned about his victory during the announcement of the winners.

Imanbek is an unprofessional musician, he studied everything in music on his own.

His main place of work is a signalman on the railway in the city of Aksu, Pavlodar region.
