Tariffs for railway transportation will rise in Belarus.

Belarusian railway raises tariffs

It is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus, the increase in tariffs for freight transportation will range from 15 to 55%, depending on the goods transported.

The department explained that the cost of each individual transportation may differ slightly from the indicated price. This is influenced by several parameters: distance, loading, weight of the transported cargo.

At the same time, it is noted that the ministry reserves the right for the Belarusian Railways to make an independent decision on granting discounts to specific carriers. But economic feasibility should be taken into account.

In addition, tariffs for the transportation of passengers by trains of urban, regional and interregional lines have increased in Belarus.

Tariffs for the transportation of passengers by public rail transport on city lines have been increased by 24 kopecks (approximately UAH 2.5) within one tariff zone and by 31 kopecks (UAH 3.3) within two tariff zones.

As for trains of regional lines, the ticket from Minsk to Molodechno will rise in price by 41 kopecks (UAH 4.35).

Tickets for trains of interregional lines will become more expensive both in economy class and business class. For example, a first-class train trip from Minsk to Gomel will increase in price by 4.44 rubles. (47 UAH).

As previously reported, Russian Railways plans to raise tariffs three times during the year.
