BDZ terminated the procedure for the purchase of electric trains due to the lack of suppliers

The Bulgarian Railway (BDZ) has terminated the tender procedures for the supply and warranty service of up to 16 new passenger electric trains. The procedure was terminated due to the absence of several participants. Conclusion of a contract with a single participant contradicts the legislation of the country, informs railway magazine Railway Supply citing information from the BDZ.

It is noted that the criterion of the tender was “the best price / quality ratio”. Since there was no choice, the company decided not to violate the “principles of free competition.”
