19.01.2023
Estonian railway infrastructure operator Eesti Raudtee has signed a contract with AŽD Praha for the supply of 800 point machines, Railway Supply magazine reports citing the Railway Gazette.
The large order is “very important for AŽD and creates an interesting alternative to existing Russian-made products in the Baltic States,” said Petr Zatecki, director of external marketing and trade at the Czech company.

The four-year, €6.1 million contract was signed after “tough competition and difficult negotiations” and the successful testing of the first three PointSWing EP-642 drives, which have an internal lock and locking brackets to suit four different turnout profiles.
As part of the contract, AŽD will also train local staff to install the equipment.
