Yapiray, the rail infrastructure arm of Turkish contractor Yapi Merkezi, will build a 368-kilometer section between Makutopora and Tabora, located in the hinterland.

It is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Yapiray.

Yapiray is also building two other sections of the new Tanzanian railroad, which should expand regional trade opportunities. After completion, the railway line will connect the port city of Dar es Salaam in the Indian Ocean with Mwanza on Lake Victoria.

Citing the words of the country President Samia Suluhu Hassan, Reuters reported that Tanzania intends to finance the project with loans, Contractor Yapiray has been involved in a wide variety of rail infrastructure projects around the world, from metro networks in Dubai and Doha to tram projects in North Africa.
