CZ Loko to Modernize Shunting Locomotives for CD Cargo by 2027

Czech manufacturer CZ Loko has begun upgrading up to 50 shunting locomotives for freight operator CD Cargo. These locomotives, built between 1977 and 1986, will receive advanced components and significant technical improvements. This was reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Each modernized locomotive will feature a redesigned hood, an ergonomic cab, and a powerful Caterpillar 3508C engine. Additionally, a new traction generator will be installed to enhance operational efficiency and performance.

CZ Loko Invests in Railway Modernization
According to the contract valued at CZK 3 billion (€120 million), the first deliveries will begin in 2025. The full modernization program is set to be completed by 2027, ensuring CD Cargo receives a fully upgraded fleet.
