This reduction in weight allows for a 15% decrease in energy operating costs and approximately a 30% reduction in wheel and rail wear.
Additionally, maintenance costs for both tracks and bogies will decrease by 15% over their service life.
These improvements make electric multiple unit trains more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient.
The company also noted that the maximum design speed for trains using these bogies is 400 km/h.
During testing, these trains have reached speeds of up to 600 km/h.
Liu Zhenfang, Chairman of the Chinese Railways, previously stated that by 2025, the Chinese high-speed rail network will feature the CR450 train, capable of reaching speeds of up to 450 km/h.
