CPKC Site Ready locations expanded yesterday, as reported by Progressive Railroading. The 14 new rail-served industrial development locations are spread across six U.S. states, three Canadian provinces and two Mexican states.

In addition, company officials said this in a press release. Also, the newly certified sites open more than 6,000 acres of immediately developable land to prospective manufacturers, logistics operators and other supply-chain partners.

Rail-served industrial development locations near key hubs

Meanwhile, the locations are close to major markets and distribution hubs. At the same time, they are pre-certified for rail service. Separately, they receive end-to-end expertise from the Class I railroad. In addition, the sites are certified in partnership with Burns & McDonnell, a global engineering and construction organization. As CPKC said in its press release, those details apply to the certified locations.

“Each certified location is designed to streamline development, accelerate timelines and create new value for both business and communities through unparalleled rail connectivity,” said Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer John Brooks.

Still, company officials said CPKC now has 22 certified sites.
