Caltrain late-night service expands for World Cup

Caltrain late-night service will be expanded for three World Cup matches in Santa Clara, California. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Additional commuter rail service will be offered for World Cup games, according to Caltrain. The late-night additions cover three match dates. Also, Caltrain plans half-hour service to Mountain View station for all six Santa Clara games.
The plan is part of Caltrain’s transportation arrangements for Santa Clara World Cup games.
Caltrain late-night service for three match dates
Six matches are scheduled at the San Francisco 49ers’ home venue. The stadium is normally known as Levi’s Stadium. During the tournament, it will be called San Francisco Bay Area Stadium. That follows FIFA naming rules. In addition, Caltrain will add late trains for three games:
• June 16 at 9 p.m. PT
• July 19 at 8 p.m.
• June 22 at 8 p.m.
Mountain View station and VTA light rail connections
Separately, the other Santa Clara matches are scheduled for three dates:
• June 13 at noon
• June 25 at 7 p.m.
• July 1 at 5 p.m.
The July 1 game is part of the knockout stage. For all six matches, Caltrain says trains will run every half hour. Also, the trains will serve Mountain View station. Passengers can transfer to VTA light rail for the stadium.
