Amtrak cancellations: Northeast Corridor disruptions persist
27.01.2026
Amtrak cancellations remain in effect as the carrier warns that winter storm impacts could last through Thursday, Jan. 29. In an advisory issued early Tuesday, Jan. 27, Amtrak said it did not provide details on cancellations or other service changes for the day; the update was also summarized by Trains.com.

This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
For the most up-to-date train status, Amtrak recommended checking the Amtrak website or app (including the Amtrak Service Alerts & Notices), along with the NEC Alerts and Amtrak Alerts feeds on x.com.
Northeast Corridor cancellations listed in early updates
As of 7:30 a.m., the NEC Alerts feed showed only one cancellation: Northeast Regional train No. 185 between New York and Philadelphia.
By 8 a.m., Amtrak’s train status page reflected additional Northeast Corridor cancellations. Departing Boston, the affected trains were Northeast Regional No. 137 (1:37 p.m.) and Acela No. 2171 (3:10 p.m.). Departing Washington, Northeast Regional trains Nos. 170 (5:05 a.m.), 130 (6:30 a.m.), 112 (7:45 a.m.), 84 (11:10 a.m.), and 192 (7:12 p.m.) were cancelled, along with Acelas Nos. 2150 (5 a.m.), 2104 (8 a.m.), and 2122 (5:30 p.m.).

Midwest cancellations tied to “trainset unavailability”
In the Midwest, Amtrak said Lincoln Service trains 301 and 306 and Wolverine No. 353 were cancelled because of “trainset unavailability.” The railroad said it is sourcing bus transportation to replace those trains.
Other routes affected: Empire Service and the Carolinian
Cancellations elsewhere included Empire Service trains No. 235 (3:15 p.m. departure from New York) and No. 238 (12:10 departure from Albany). Amtrak also listed the No. 80 Carolinian — the northbound train — as cancelled north of Raleigh, N.C.; related storm-period Amtrak updates have also been tracked by Railway Supply.
