Alstom Danish headquarters brings teams together
22.05.2026
Alstom Danish headquarters has opened in Hvidovre. The site brings the company’s Danish office staff together in one place for the first time. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The facility is located in the western part of the Greater Copenhagen area. It was officially inaugurated on May 20, with key stakeholders from Denmark’s railway sector in attendance.
The renovated site covers 3,700 m², combining office space with laboratory facilities. Together, those functions make the Hvidovre premises both a shared staff base and a site for rail engineering work. The facility has capacity for more than 300 employees.
Key figures for the new site and Alstom’s Danish activities include:
300 employees in Denmark
3,700 m² of office space and lab facilities
500+ trains sold in Denmark
Alstom Danish headquarters brings teams under one roof
Alstom has operated in Denmark for more than two decades. Over that period, the company has supplied more than 500 trains. These trains are used by passengers across the country every day.
Also, its Danish presence has become more pronounced in recent years through several major rail programmes. These include the IC5 Coradia Stream fleet order, the modernisation of the Copenhagen metro fleet, and the rollout of the new ERTMS signalling system in Eastern Denmark. Through these projects, Alstom has established itself as a key player in the Danish rail sector.
Jörg Nikutta, Managing Director for Alstom Denmark, said:
“With this new office, we are not just investing in physical space – we are investing in our future in Denmark. We are here to stay, and this opening is a clear signal of that – both to our employees and to our partners,”
Engineering lab supports Nordic signalling work
The new headquarters has been planned around sustainability, accessibility, and modern working practices. Its features include acoustic flooring, sound-absorbing wall panels, green breakout spaces, flexible workstations, and quiet zones. These elements are intended to create a comfortable and collaborative setting for employees. They also support wellbeing, cooperation, and efficiency.
In addition, the site includes a specialised engineering laboratory alongside its office functions. This lab supports rail signalling work across the Nordic region. It covers both onboard and trackside systems. Its activities include integration, testing, and validation for national programmes in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
By opening the new premises in Hvidovre, Alstom marks its long-term commitment to Denmark’s railway sector.
