Local company Medho Servo Drives has inaugurated a factory spanning 101,000 square meters in the state of Telangana, employing a workforce of 558 individuals, according to the Railway Supply portal.
There are plans to expand the production facilities to 404,600 square meters in the future, along with the employment of an additional thousand people.
The occupiers have created the «railways of novorossiya» ‘enterprise’
The first order to be fulfilled by the factory will involve the delivery of 10 monorail trains for Mumbai, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Previously, it was announced that the plant would specialize in the production of electric trains, locomotives, metro cars, and monorails, with the capacity to manufacture 500 Metro Rail cars and 50 locomotives annually.
Certain Indian media outlets report that the factory is a joint venture with Stadler.
However, the company itself denied this information in May. Nevertheless, it is known that both companies formed a consortium to participate in a tender for the supply of 100 and 200 Vande Bharat electric trains to the Indian Railways.
