The package runs from Kharsia at km 0.00 to Balodabazar at km 110.500. Its civil scope includes formation earthworks, bridges, Rail Over Rail structures, Road Over Bridges, Road Under Bridges, service buildings and staff quarters.

Track work includes P-Way construction and the supply of ballast and permanent-way materials other than rail. The same EPC package also covers 2×25 kV overhead electrification, power-supply installations, PLC and general electrical work, plus signalling and telecommunications.

110.5 km package bundles structures, track and rail systems

Tender CAO-C-BSP-26-27-16 has an estimated value of ₹3,103.69 crore and an EMD of ₹62.08 crore. The stated completion period is 1,275 days. Pre-bid meetings are listed for 1 September and 22 September 2026, while the bid submission deadline is 11 November 2026.

The contract has not been described as awarded, and the tender information does not indicate that construction of this 110.5 km package has started. The package remains a procurement for major civil structures and railway systems rather than completed or ongoing construction.

The tender is one section of a 278 km Chhattisgarh corridor

The EPC scope places the Kharsia–Balodabazar works within the wider Kharsia–Parmalkasa 5th and 6th New Broad Gauge Line Project under South East Central Railway. An official PM GatiShakti review described the full alignment as 277.917 km, running from Kharsia Junction on the Bilaspur–Jharsuguda section to Parmalkasa on the Durg–Nagpur section, with a connection to Naya Raipur 186.65 km from Kharsia.

The Ministry of Railways said the wider Kharsia–Naya Raipur–Parmalkasa corridor was sanctioned in April 2025. Its July 2026 update said the alignment crosses eight districts in Chhattisgarh, with Baloda Bazar a central connectivity focus, and reported an estimated land requirement of 1,852 hectares with land acquisition procedures under way.
