The new railway will stretch 1,541 kilometers from north to south, featuring 23 passenger stations. Trains will reach speeds of up to 350 km/h, ensuring efficient regional connectivity.

Additionally, five freight terminals will be built, allowing trains to operate at 160 km/h. This initiative aims to improve logistics and boost the economic potential of the region.

Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Dan Huy emphasized the railway’s importance for Vietnam’s transportation system. The project includes maintenance depots for passenger and freight trains, ensuring reliable operations.

Plans also include connecting Vietnam’s railway to China’s high-speed network through northern branches. This connection will enable Chinese trains to travel through Vietnam, enhancing international cooperation and trade links.

The project is considered a crucial step toward modernizing transportation infrastructure and improving the country’s global competitiveness.
