The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has authorized $ 338.02 million (€ 300 million) in financial assistance for the Ispartakule-Cerkezkoy railway project in Turkey.

This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Railway Technology.

The project will be co-financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which will provide a loan of $ 169.01 million (150 million euros). As part of this project, a new double-track electrified high-speed railway will be built between Ispartakule and Cherkezka.

This project will be implemented within the Khalkali-Kapikule railway line, which is part of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) transport corridor.
