This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to RailFreight.

During their visit to Turkey, the delegation examined the Haydarpasa port in Istanbul, which should become Turkey’s gateway to Ukraine. Lithuania emphasized that two rail freight connections have already been established with Ukraine.

One of them runs once a week between Klaipeda and Odessa ports via Kyiv. The second is the Viking train.

LTG Cargo Ukraine has become the operator of the Viking container train across the territory of Ukraine.

In particular, the Viking train is planned to be connected to the port of Chornomorsk near Odessa, which will become the entry point for Turkish cargo to Ukraine.

Lithuania is also negotiating with Sweden to create a Sweden-Turkey intermodal corridor. Let us remind you that the Lithuanian railway is developing a strategy that excludes the transportation of Belarusian goods due to the EU and US sanctions imposed against Belarus.
