The Netherlands’ Royal Train will be handed over to the Dutch Railway Museum after the official visit of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima to Belgium from June 20 to 22, as reported by the railway portal Railway Supply.

The Royal Train

This train, which was used by the royal family and transported heads of foreign states, consists of one carriage and is based on rolling stock from the 1980s. It is named SR10.

The carriage features a salon, two small bedrooms, a kitchen, and a meeting area.

This train replaced the previous royal train, built in 1930, which is exhibited in the museum.

It is worth noting that the Danish royal family also has their own personal carriage, which was modernized for Queen Margrethe II’s 60th anniversary in 2000.
