The number of employees at the State Enterprise “Ukrzaliznytsia” (UZ) has decreased to 191,700 people. This was announced by the Chairman of the Board of UZ, Yevhen Liaschenko, in an interview with NV, as reported by the railway journal Railway Supply, citing Rail.insider.

According to the company’s CEO, at the time of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukrainian territory, the number of employees was 235,000 people. “In particular, there were about 5-6 thousand employees at the joint-stock company (JSC) factories (enterprises in the form of private joint-stock companies, owned by UZ – Ed.). Currently, we have 191,700 employees, including JSC factories,” said Yevhen Liaschenko.

He also clarified that this number includes the average number of employees. “This figure includes employees on childcare leave, pregnant employees, and those on maternity leave, totaling approximately 7,500 people. In addition, another 15,000 employees are on suspended employment due to being in occupied territories or abroad,” emphasized Yevhen Liaschenko.

Meanwhile, the number of employees on forced leave due to compelling circumstances has decreased to 2,800 people.

It should be noted that Ukrzaliznytsia plans to increase tariff rates and salaries for railway workers by 10% starting from July 1st.
