TfL line closures this weekend across London network
21.11.2025
TfL line closures this weekend are set to affect several routes across London between November 22 and 23, as Network Rail maintenance and engineering projects hit parts of the London Overground, DLR and Elizabeth line. For many passengers, that will simply mean planning around temporary gaps in the timetable.
This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The impact will be felt most in East London, where platforms will be out of use in Havering, Tower Hamlets and Newham, and where DLR signal testing will cause some London City Airport travel disruption. Alternatives will still be available — including rail replacement buses on certain stretches — but it is easy to be caught out by closures. Below is a line-by-line look at which TfL lines are closed in London this weekend (November 22–23); a similar overview of the weekend’s disruptions is also provided by Secret London.
TfL line closures this weekend: London Overground closures
Liberty line
Sunday, November 23
On Sunday, November 23, there will be no Liberty line service between Romford and Upminster because Network Rail is carrying out maintenance work on this section.
Passengers are advised to make this journey using local bus routes instead.
Mildmay line
Saturday, November 22 – Sunday, November 23
From Saturday, November 22 through Sunday, November 23, London Overground trains on the Mildmay line will not run between Gospel Oak and Richmond/Shepherd’s Bush while Network Rail maintenance work takes place.
During this London Overground closure, customers should switch to Tube services or combine local and replacement buses as alternative routes.
DLR closures
Saturday, November 22 – Stratford International to Woolwich Arsenal
On Saturday, November 22, DLR services will not operate between Stratford International and Woolwich Arsenal because of signal testing and third party works along the route.

Passengers are encouraged to use the Jubilee line and Elizabeth line where possible. Rail replacement buses will also run between Canning Town, London City Airport and King George V to help maintain connections across London’s transport network, especially for airport trips.
Saturday, November 22 – Poplar to Beckton
Also on Saturday, November 22, there will be no DLR trains between Poplar and Beckton, again due to signal testing and third party works.
Travellers are advised to rely on local bus routes, with rail replacement buses operating between Canary Wharf and Gallions Reach via Beckton to bridge the gap.
Saturday, November 22 – Sunday, November 23 – Tower Gateway to Shadwell
From Saturday, November 22 to Sunday, November 23, DLR services between Tower Gateway and Shadwell will be suspended because of the same programme of signal testing and third party works.
During these DLR closures, passengers can instead use Tube services, Windrush line trains or local bus routes to complete their journeys through this part of the network.
Elizabeth line closures
Sunday, November 23 – Liverpool Street/Whitechapel to Shenfield
On Sunday, November 23, Elizabeth line trains will not run between Liverpool Street (national rail platforms)/Whitechapel and Shenfield due to track work.
While these Elizabeth line closures are in place, passengers are encouraged to use Tube services, the Mildmay line or DLR routes, along with local bus services. Rail replacement buses will also be available along this corridor to keep east-bound journeys moving.
There is additional disruption planned for the following weekend as well, with more details available separately.
Sunday, November 23 – Paddington to Ealing Broadway
Also on Sunday, November 23, no Elizabeth line trains will operate between Paddington and Ealing Broadway until 7.45am because of additional track work.
During this early-morning closure, passengers should use Tube services or local bus routes while this section remains shut, and then switch back to the Elizabeth line once trains resume later in the morning.
