Titagarh Rail Systems Limited, an Indian rolling stock manufacturer, placed the order with Siemens Limited⁠ for advanced propulsion systems and train control and monitoring systems for the metro expansion project in Pune, one of India’s major cities.

Pune Metro propulsion systems and TCMS scope

The contract covers Siemens’ design, production, delivery, and warranty of traction converters, auxiliary converters, traction motors, and TCMS systems for 12 trains.

The company links the order to the Make in India initiative, with regional production in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

Siemens technology for the Indian metro market

Rajeev Joisar, Managing Director of the Mobility Division at Siemens Limited, said the cooperation with Titagarh is intended to support India’s fast-growing metro sector.

Titagarh reports nearly complete localization
