Pune Metro Phase-2 R&R studies move to contract stage

Pune Metro Phase-2 R&R studies have moved forward. As reported by Rail Analysis, Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd awarded a Rs. 79.65 lakh consultancy contract for Rehabilitation and Resettlement work. The assignment has been given to a joint venture of Infer Development Consulting Pvt Ltd and ES Safeguards Compliance Services Pvt Ltd. The text identifies it as “the Consultant.”

Pune Metro Phase-2 corridors under the consultancy
The consultancy covers two Pune Metro Phase-2 corridors. As outlined in the tender notice, they are Kharadi – Hadapsar – Swargate – Khadakwasla and Nal Stop – Warje – Manik Baug. Meanwhile, the team will study the socio-economic effects of metro expansion on these routes. In addition, it will identify the rehabilitation needs arising from the project.

The scope of work includes detailed R&R studies. For example, this covers affected households and businesses. Also, it covers the assessment of socio-economic conditions. Still, it includes proposals for mitigation and rehabilitation measures. At the same time, it includes compliance with regulatory requirements and social safeguard provisions.
Maha Metro consultancy contract value and timeline
The contract value is Rs. 79,65,000. It is inclusive of GST and other applicable taxes, duties, and levies. Separately, Maha Metro has set 180 days for completion of the consultancy services. That timing is noted by Metro Rail Today.
These studies are intended to support project implementation by addressing displacement-related issues. Also, they are meant to ensure that affected communities receive appropriate consideration during the process. In addition, according to the text, the exercise is aimed at promoting inclusive urban development. Meanwhile, it is aimed at reducing project-related conflicts.
