A long-anticipated railway link from Shrewsbury to London has gained momentum following government approval. Officials confirmed that final authorization could enable services by spring, boosting regional transport significantly.

MP Julia Buckley emphasized that Shrewsbury’s connectivity with London strengthens its role as an economic hub. She highlighted that improved transportation fosters business expansion, tourism, and greater opportunities for local communities.

The Department for Transport’s endorsement pushes the project toward an Office of Rail and Road (ORR) evaluation. If ORR gives final approval, the new service will integrate into the upcoming timetable seamlessly.
