Metro Bus transit facility work starts in St. Cloud
16.05.2026
Metro Bus transit facility construction has officially started in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The new site will support the existing Metro Bus Transit Center and the broader system. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The facility is part of new routes and service improvements known as Metro Bus Forward. Representatives from St. Cloud, the Metro Bus board, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), and project suppliers attended the recent ceremony marking the start of construction, as reported by METRO Magazine.
Metro Bus Forward and the new facility
Metro Bus CEO Ryan I. Daniel opened the event and introduced the speakers. They included Metro Bus Board Chair Dave Kleis, board member and Waite Park Mayor Ken Schmidt, COO David Green, and Caroline Miller, assistant office director for MnDOT’s Office of Transit and Active Transportation.
Also, Miller used the ceremony to describe how the facility is expected to strengthen transit access for travelers in the region and beyond.
“This project represents a commitment to strengthening transit access across Minnesota. It’s going to make better use of existing resources, offer more services, and ultimately better serve the communities,” she said. “We know that St. Cloud Metro Bus is very thoughtful and careful with the design to ensure that the facility is working for all users, including those who are using paratransit, with improvements like ADA design, wayfinding, and safety.”
Completion expected in 2027
Metro Bus expects the facility to be completed in 2027. Meanwhile, the timing of the grand opening and the Metro Bus Forward service changes will be announced later.
