According to a press release from L.A. Metro, the new safety data website was created with input from passengers. In addition, Metro officials said the agency’s public safety advisory council also provided input. Also, officials said the page will be updated regularly. For example, it will include data on security activity, reported crime, ridership and other key metrics. At the same time, the page will add context to help explain trends.

Meanwhile, the safety hub also links users to L.A. Metro’s public safety dashboard. It provides riders with timely data on security, crime and response times. Separately, agency officials said the dashboard was developed under Metro’s public safety analytics policies. Still, officials said it was developed under bias-free policing policies as well.

“By making this information readily accessible, we are empowering our riders and the public with a transparent look at our progress and the actions we’re taking to build a safer transit system for everyone,” said L.A. Metro Chair Fernando Dutra.
