USA: Amtrak has completed a $3.5 million accessibility upgrade at Huntingdon Station in Pennsylvania, adding an ADA-compliant boarding platform, pedestrian crossing, passenger shelter and other customer-focused improvements.

The completed project also upgraded lighting and electrical systems, improved drainage and stormwater management, and added ADA-compliant signage. In its official completion announcement, Amtrak also identified additional site, utility and customer-amenity enhancements.

New Platform and Crossing Improve Passenger Access

The new boarding platform and signage are designed to meet ADA requirements, while the improved pedestrian crossing and passenger shelter address how travelers move through and wait at the station.
