Bilt members can turn rent and mortgage points into Amtrak trips
Bilt members who earn points on rent and mortgage payments can now transfer Bilt Points to Amtrak Guest Rewards at a 2:1 ratio and redeem them for rail travel.
Amtrak and Bilt launched the partnership on September 23, 2026. The companies describe Amtrak as Bilt’s first rail partner and the 26th travel partner in its network, which already includes airlines and hotels.
How the 2:1 transfer works
Every two Bilt Points become one Amtrak Guest Rewards point. Points move in blocks of 1,000. For Silver, Gold and Platinum members the floor is 1,000 Bilt Points. Members with Blue status need at least 2,000, and Amtrak’s Bilt page puts the maximum transfer at 1 million points. Before the first transfer, members link their Bilt and Amtrak Guest Rewards accounts in the Bilt app or on Bilt.com. The names on both accounts must match.
Amtrak says converted points generally arrive in Guest Rewards within 72 hours, though processing can take longer. A completed transfer cannot be reversed. Bilt membership is limited to people located in the US. Both companies keep the right to change the ratio, the minimums and other conditions at any time.
What the points buy on Amtrak
Membership in Amtrak Guest Rewards is free. Reward travel starts at 400 points, or at 100 points when a member combines points with cash through Points & Cash. A single-visit pass to Amtrak’s Metropolitan Lounges starts at 1,500 points, and a one-class upgrade coupon, such as Coach to Business Class, starts at 2,500 points.
At the 2:1 ratio, the smallest transfer for Silver, Gold and Platinum members yields 500 Amtrak points, which covers the 400-point entry reward, while the Blue minimum of 2,000 Bilt Points yields 1,000.

Every entry-level reward on the list is within reach of a single transfer: a 1,000-point transfer covers both travel thresholds for Silver, Gold and Platinum members, and 5,000 Bilt Points reach the upgrade threshold for any status.
Editorial calculation: Bilt Points needed equal Amtrak points multiplied by two, rounded up to the next 1,000-point transfer block and never below the status minimum of 1,000 or 2,000. Starting thresholds, minimums and the ratio come from Amtrak’s Bilt page.
Amtrak runs trains to over 500 destinations in 46 US states and parts of Canada. The partners single out the Northeast Corridor, which connects Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York and Boston, four cities the announcement lists among Bilt’s most active markets.
Bilt founder and CEO Ankur Jain said many members already rely on the train to visit family, get to work and leave town for a weekend, adding:
“The housing payments they’re already making should be what gets them on board.”
Amtrak Guest Rewards membership in fiscal 2025
Amtrak framed the partnership against its record revenue, ridership and demand. In its fiscal 2025 results, covering October 2024 to September 2025, Amtrak said Guest Rewards passed 20 million enrolled members, who account for more than half of all riders. The railroad carried 34.5 million customer trips that year, 5.1% more than in fiscal 2024 and an all-time high by its own count.
