Fresh Tracks Canada Pacific Central Station: new tenant in Vancouver
03.02.2026
Fresh Tracks Canada Pacific Central Station is now the new base for the Canadian tour operator, after VIA Rail Canada Inc. confirmed the company will lease space at the Vancouver terminal for the next 10 years in a VIA Rail press release. The move brings Fresh Tracks and 75 employees into offices inside the station.

VIA Rail, which operates Pacific Central Station, said the arrival reflects how it wants major travel hubs to keep evolving into vibrant community destinations. It also said the focus is on making the historic building more accessible and welcoming to partners and local businesses, as outlined by Progressive Railroading.

Mathieu Paquette, a lead executive at VIA Rail, said the new tenant shows what recent investments have delivered for Pacific Central Station’s accessibility and readiness for partnerships. With Fresh Tracks Canada setting up its offices on site, VIA Rail officials said the more than 100-year-old landmark will continue serving the region in new ways.

Upgrades tied to VIAction 2030 and heritage station work
The announcement also fits within VIA Rail’s broader push to invest across its pan-Canadian network of heritage stations, in step with commitments in its VIAction 2030 plan. At Pacific Central Station alone, more than C$8 million has been spent over the past two years on upgrades.
According to VIA Rail, that work has covered HVAC improvements, added structural supports, automated building systems and controls, and rejuvenated office spaces to better support station operations and tenants. The operator described the changes as part of its effort to make key travel hubs more functional and more connected to surrounding communities.
Heritage status, preserved architecture, and key rail services
Pacific Central Station was designated a Heritage Railway Station in 1991, and VIA Rail noted that the terminal’s original 1919 neoclassical revival architecture has been preserved alongside modern amenities. The station offers services such as dining, retail, and other passenger facilities.
As a terminal stop for iconic railway lines including the Canadian and Amtrak Cascades, Fresh Tracks Canada Pacific Central Station remains a key multimodal gateway for the western region, with Pacific Central Station’s role as the Vancouver endpoint for the Canadian also referenced in Railway Supply.
