REM Free Parking Spaces Grow by More Than 1,000
REM free parking spaces are being expanded by converting more than 1,000 paid spaces following a review of actual parking usage conducted more than nine months after the Deux-Montagnes branch opened.

The changes affect Brossard, Bois-Franc, Sunnybrooke, Pierrefonds-Roxboro, Sainte-Dorothée and Grand-Moulin. Paid parking will remain available for passengers who want to secure a space.
Where REM free parking spaces are increasing
The largest conversion is at Brossard, where 513 spaces will become free. Pierrefonds-Roxboro is gaining 203 free spaces, followed by Bois-Franc with 152, Sunnybrooke with 120, Grand-Moulin with 57 and Sainte-Dorothée with 34.
REM said its review provided a clearer picture of customer travel patterns and parking needs. A CDPQ Infra spokesperson also said the company had developed a better understanding of how customers were using the parking facilities after several months of operation on the Deux-Montagnes branch.
The changes are being implemented station by station. They took effect at Bois-Franc on August 20, Sunnybrooke on August 21 and Sainte-Dorothée on August 25. Pierrefonds-Roxboro was scheduled for August 27 and Brossard for September 1, while the timing for Grand-Moulin remains to be confirmed. The dates depend on the progress of work carried out by Indigo.

After the conversions, Bois-Franc will have 39 paid and 635 free spaces. Sunnybrooke will have 33 paid and 453 free spaces, while Sainte-Dorothée will retain 165 paid spaces alongside 673 free spaces.
Pierrefonds-Roxboro will have 59 paid and 823 free spaces. Grand-Moulin is expected to have 22 paid and 208 free spaces, while Brossard will have 330 paid and 2,511 free spaces.
Deux-Montagnes station is not included in the conversion. CDPQ Infra said the number of paid spaces currently available there meets demand.
Paid parking options are also changing
The paid parking system is also changing. Dedicated areas are being created for monthly pass holders, with on-site signage to be installed gradually. Advance daily parking reservations have not been available since early July. Customers can still buy a monthly parking pass or make a daily reservation directly at the parking lot.
Panama parking expansion is complete
A separate change is taking place at Panama station, where a parking expansion project launched in 2025 has now been completed. From September 3, the station will have 75 paid spaces and 360 free spaces. The paid parking area will also move closer to the station entrance.
The changes increase the number of free spaces at Panama from 227 to 360 and restore the number of paid spaces to 75.
The adjustments follow concerns about parking availability at suburban REM stations. Pierrefonds-Roxboro Mayor Dimitrios Beis said the borough had sought additional parking at its two stations for some time and described the change as “definitely a step in the right direction to encourage folks to use the REM.”
Paid parking at REM stations costs $10.29 per day or $105.50 plus tax per month.
