Ermewa Group rebranding
12.04.2023
Ermewa Group, a freight wagon and tank container leasing company, has announced that it has changed its name and brand name to Streem. The Ermewa brand will be retained for the wagon leasing subsidiary. It is reported by Railway Supply magazine with reference to IRJ.
French National Railways (SNCF) completed the sale of Ermewa, Europe’s second largest freight wagon and tank container rental company, to the consortium Caisse de dépôt et Placement du Québec (CDPQ) and the German asset manager DWS Group in October 2021.

Streem, which has offices in more than 40 locations and more than 1300 employees, has five subsidiaries: Ermewa, which owns more than 45,000 wagons across Europe; Inveho workshops, which undertakes wagon maintenance and production in France and Germany; and Eurotainer, Raffles Lease, and Demi which lease tank containers. Eurotainer and Raffles Lease together own more than 80,000 ISO tank containers worldwide, while Demi operates dedicated tank container storage and maintenance facilities.
Streem CEO, Mr David Zindo, says the company is aiming to double its revenue by 2030 “while actively contributing to the carbon neutrality agenda.” He says that the company has accelerated its development in the 18 months since the takeover was completed, which has included modernising its fleet and embracing innovation.
