This was discussed during the meeting of the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solsky with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania Kestutis Navickas, reports Railway Supply magazine with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

The Lithuanian delegation visited Kyiv on April 10. The main topic of the meeting was the use of the logistics capabilities of the Republic of Lithuania for the export of Ukrainian grain to the traditional markets for our agricultural products in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

Minister Kestutis Navickas noted that the Lithuanian Transport Authority is considering the issue of sending a test train from Ukraine with 2 000 tons of cargo in the near future, which will be the first step for the implementation of a global project.

The Lithuanian side also expressed assurance of providing comprehensive support to Ukraine regarding its European integration aspirations.

In this context, Kestutis Navickas stressed that he would personally facilitate consultations with European colleagues.

They will concern the provision of methodological assistance in the accelerated passage of the necessary procedures for Ukraine’s accession to the EU, in particular, in the field of agriculture.
