Uzbekistan counts on metro trains from TMH

JSC “Uzbekiston Temir Yullari” hopes that “Transmashholding” (TMH) will accelerate the supply of trains for the Tashkent metro. This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to the Sputnik website.

In September 2019, Metrovagonmash (part of TMH) completed the supply of five metro trains for the Tashkent Metro (part of Uzbekiston Temir Yullari).

The contract for the supply of four-car trains was signed in October 2018. The contract worth 27.7 million euros was financed through a loan from the Russian Vnesheconombank for 22.14 million and funds from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan for 5.54 million euros.

New locomotives for the Uzbekistan railways

Uzbekiston Temir Yullari informed about its intention to purchase 40 more trains for the metro of the capital of the country.

This was discussed during a meeting between the management of the railway company and TMH in Tashkent.

At present, the length of four lines of the Tashkent metro with 43 stations is 59.5 km.
