On March 16, the Ukrzaliznytsia convention for the transportation of ferrous scrap to Slovakia, Austria and the Czech Republic came into force. Railway Supply writes about this with reference to Rail.insider.

UZ ban

It is forbidden to transport scrap metal to Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Austria through the border crossings Chop and Uzhgorod. It is noted that the restriction applies to all recipients. The convention is valid from March 16 until cancelled.

Recall that last week UZ canceled the convention for the delivery of ore cargoes to Czech steel plants through the Chop station.
