UZ rates for tanks outstripped grain carriers in terms of cost

“Center for Transport Logistics”, branch of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, has set the rates of payment for the use of the carrier’s own wagons. The relevant information was published by Valery Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Commercial Department of the company, in the community dedicated to railway logistics, Railway Supply reports with reference to Rail.insider.
As follows from the published documents, in March the cost of using UZ tanks will reach UAH 5,100 per day. This is at the level of the marginal rate. Note that in February the price of using UZ tanks was 2255 UAH/day. But the grain carriers lost 100 UAH and will cost 4200 UAH/day.
UZ accepted 50% fewer wagons for transportation in 2022
The rental price of the most common type of rolling stock – gondola cars – will increase by UAH 100 (up to UAH 1500 per day). Fitting platforms remain stably expensive (at the level of the marginal rate) – 4100 UAH.
At the same time, cement carriers for grain transportation are offered at a rate of only 100 UAH/day. In February, the use of this type of rolling stock cost 1707 UAH/day. However, answering questions in the comments, Valery Tkachev noted that “CTL does not plan to provide its own cement carriers for the transportation of grain, because there is enough specialized rolling stock – grain carriers.”
