Chairman of the Board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" Alexander Kamyshin

It is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply.

“A week after the start of work, we put the wagons at ProZorro. On August 20, my colleagues and I discussed this issue. Then the rent of our grain carrier cost 540 UAH / day. And I, being an agrarian in the past, knew that the price on the market was already twice as high. But in order to raise the rate, it was necessary to conduct a market research, submit “a presentation to the tariff commission of Ukrzaliznytsia, which should make a decision.” In short, I realized that we would be lost. But we went the other way – we put the wagons up for auction at ProZorro, ”said the head of UZ.

He added that there was resistance within the company. “But there was one person who raised his hand and said:” Everything is possible today until 20:00. ” By 19:50 we agreed on the last division of lots and put the wagons up for auction on the same day. The first auction showed a doubling of prices. We sold the first grain carrier at an auction for more than UAH 1000 / day, ”noted Alexander Kamyshin.

According to him, on 6 thousand grain carriers, UZ did not earn about 3 million hryvnias per day. “But we enlisted the support of the authorities and business and kept the case with the auction,” the chairman of the board emphasized.

He also said that “this month alone, grain carriers gave plus UAH 478 million.”

In addition, Alexander Kamyshin named the main tasks for freight transportation: “The first is to repair the infrastructure in order to increase the speed of movement. The second is to raise the locomotives in order to reduce the turnaround time of the wagons. And the third is to preserve a transparent, business-friendly mechanism for freight carriage. “
