CJSC Hungarian State Railways (MAV) has previously agreed on the range of plying for three models of Ukrainian freight cars with their rearrangement on European bogies. This was reported in the department of commercial work of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.

Replacement of wagon bogies

It is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply.

In response to the letter from the regional branch of the Lviv Railway, the Hungarian side notes that they are talking about three types of wagons: a gondola car, a tank car and a grain carrier.

CJSC MAV has considered the possibility of passing the cars of models 12-141, 15-1443, 19-752 specified in the request. The above-mentioned shipments via the network of CJSC “MAV” can go between the following border stations: Chop – Zahony/Batiovo – Epereske – Debrecen – Nirabran (state border with Romania), Chop – Zahony / Batiovo – Epereske – Miskolc – Cegled – Ferencváros – Gyor state border with Austria ), Chop – Zahony/Batiovo – Ferencváros – Gyor – Komarom (state border with Slovakia), Chop – Zahony/Batiovo – Epereshke – Miskolc – Cegled – Ferencvaros – Gyor – Celdemelk Rendezo – Diekenesz – Dyor – Tseldemelk Rendezö – Erisentpeter (state border with Slovenia),” the Hungarian company noted.

In addition, MAV added that “in order to consider the movement of wagons to the ports of Europe, the sending railway needs to request consent for the movement of oversized cargo.”

According to Valery Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Commercial Work of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, those interested in transporting goods in their own wagons with the replacement of bogies through the territory of Hungary should contact the Center for Transport Logistics branch with a request to coordinate the running of such rolling stock directly with the Hungarian side.

Ukrzaliznytsia also added that similar requests regarding the coordination of the range of Ukrainian wagons with the replacement of bogies and the coordination of the overall dimensions of the rolling stock were sent to carriers and operators of the railway infrastructure of other neighboring states. Hungary was the first country to officially answer this question.

As previously reported, UZ canceled the convention for transportation to Hungary.
