The fourth narrow-gauge locomotive has been overhauled in Bulgaria

Another narrow-gauge diesel locomotive is ready for operation. Locomotive 75 009 is the penultimate diesel locomotive produced in Germany and delivered in 1965, which is also the most powerful in the world.

It has been completely rebuilt after more than 10 years of decommissioning. This is the fourth major overhaul of a narrow gauge locomotive in the last 2 years. Currently, the depot has begun work on the restoration of another diesel locomotive of the same series. This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply  citing information from the BDZ.

At the beginning of 2022, the commissioning of the completely repaired and modernized diesel locomotive 77 002, which is being carried out at the Express Service OOD locomotive plant, is expected, after which the restoration of 77 009 will begin.

Through the implementation of the BDZ repair program and the restoration of narrow-gauge locomotives and wagons, the necessary rolling stock will be provided to service the narrow-gauge line to meet the increased demand for trips on the attractive narrow-gauge September-Dobrinishte line.
