The largest rolling stock depot of Rail Baltica was designed by OÜ Real Project and NORD PROJEKT AS.

Riga railway station will not be closed for the Rail Baltica project

The rolling stock depot will primarily repair and service trains whose final terminal is the joint terminal Rail Baltica Ülemiste, but the depot should be ready to service and repair the rest of the Rail Baltica 1435 mm gauge train fleet.

The Ülemiste rolling stock depot must provide parking for the passenger fleet and other necessary maintenance functions.

The depot can simultaneously receive seven trains, according to the Rail Baltica operational plan, the infrastructure project specifies the operation of 26 high-speed trains and 16 regional trains.

The depot will be designed in several stages; construction is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2022.
