Stadler is fulfilling a large order for a total of 40 EZT Kiss double-deck trains for the Hungarian Railways.

Double-deck electric train

This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to Nakolei Pl.

In April 2017, the Hungarian railways MÁV signed a framework contract for the supply of forty Kiss double-deck EMUs from Stadler. Initially, 11 electric trains were ordered, then 8 more trains were ordered as an option under the contract in 2018.

In January 2020, Hungarian Railways decided to order 21 double-deck electric trains, thus making full use of the 40 unit frame contract.
