At this year’s TRAKO International Railway Fair in Gdansk, Stadler presented the KISS double-deck electric train, manufactured for Slovenske Zelenice in accordance with a contract signed in April 2018.

The presented electric train was manufactured in accordance with a 2018 contract for the supply of a fleet of 26 electric trains to Slovenian Railways, reports Railway Supply magazine referring to Nakolei Pl.

In 2019, the order was increased for another 26 FLIRT electric trains, including ten electric and sixteen diesel locomotives. The delivery of modern Stadler trains to Slovenia means a completely new quality of transport on local routes.

The KISS three-section double-deck electric train for Slovenian Railways has been designed as a regional vehicle with speeds up to 160 km/h. Its length is 79.84 meters, width 2.80 meters and height 4.63 meters.

According to the carrier’s plan, the KISS electric trains will replace the decommissioned trains of the EN57 and EN71 series, which are already 50 years old.
