Siemens explained what was wrong with UZ’s tender for the renewal of passenger rolling stock.

Dmitry Chernenky, director of the Ukrainian representative office of Siemens, commented to urm journalists on the UZ tender for the purchase of 80 trains. The main problem of the tender is that all types of trains planned to be purchased for one lot, informs railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to urm.media.

“Of course, we welcome such programs to renew UZ’s passenger and suburban fleet. Tender announced for ProZorro – this is the right option for us. However, the conditions are not specifically outlined, different types of trains were mixed in one lot.”, – Dmitry Chernenky.

He also said that Siemens is ready to offer rolling stock that meets the tender conditions. “We have rolling stock that meets the conditions of the tender: Desiro commuter trains and Velaro high-speed trains for regional traffic. We are ready to offer them, but in open tenders with understandable conditions. ”, – Dmitry Chernenky.
