Interpipe, a global producer of steel pipes and railway wheels products, announces that it has successfully completed the audit of Siemens, the German railway transport manufacturer.

Thus, an important step towards full qualification of Interpipe as a supplier was made. Once being fully qualified the Company will be able to deliver wheels directly for manufacturing and maintenance of a wide range of Siemens rail transportation vehicles around the world, including high-speed.

The audit consisted of several stages. The German party thoroughly examined the entire production technology – from the manufacture of round billets at EAF complex Interpipe Steel and up to the machining of the railway wheels themselves. Siemens’ representatives paid special attention to Interpipe’s decarbonization plans.

– We could prove that we comply with all the most stringent requirements of Siemens in-house standards. It is a major step forward towards the strategic goal of the Railway Products Division – to become a certified supplier for locomotives and passenger rolling stock of one of the largest railcar manufacturers in Europe. Interpipe is going to fill the first direct orders for Siemens already this year.

Interpipe is a Ukrainian industrial company, a manufacturer of seamless pipes and railway wheels. The company’s products are supplied to more than 80 countries of the world through a network of sales offices located in the key markets of the CIS, the Middle East, North America and Europe. In 2020, Interpipe sold 662 thousand tons of finished products, including 192 thousand tons of railway products. Railway products are sold under the KLW brand.

Interpipe employs 11 thousand people. In 2020, the Company transferred UAH 2.54 billion to the budgets of all levels.
