PKP Intercity will announce a tender for the purchase of up to 23 electric trains
PKP Intercity plans to announce a tender for the purchase of up to 23 electric trains. This was stated by board member Adam Laskowski during the debate at Congress 590.

At the beginning of 2021, PKP Intercity signed an agreement with the Ministry of Infrastructure in the amount of PLN 21 billion. This marked the start of major purchases that PKP Intercity is expected to complete by 2030, informs Railway Supply magazine with reference to Nakolei Pl.
The carrier is preparing to announce a tender for the purchase of 63 new multi-system locomotives with the possibility of supplying 32 more. Such locomotives would accelerate to a speed of 200 km/h.

In addition, they are talking about dual-mode vehicles, where PKP Intercity plans to purchase 38 wagons and 45 locomotives to service such trains.
However, during a debate at Congress 590, PKP Intercity board member Adam Laskowski, for the first time announced that PKP Intercity plans to announce a tender for the purchase of up to 23 high-speed Pendolino trains that can reach speeds of at least 250 km/h.
