PKP Cargo signs long-term military transport contract

The Polish company PKP Cargo SA has signed a seven-year contract for the provision of army rail transportation. The cost of the order, according to military personnel, will amount to 1.4 billion zlotys (310 million euros). This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to the carrier’s information.

The framework agreement is designed for seven years and applies to domestic and international military transport.

We are talking about the transportation of weapons and equipment, as well as people. The provision of certain transport services will take place on the basis of separate contracts.

It is reported that the company was selected as a service provider without competition, as it was recognized as an enterprise performing defense tasks in the event of an external threat to the security of the state.
