KAFD has unveiled a Monorail System in Riyadh, enhancing urban connectivity with a sustainable, driverless design. This system spans 3.6 kilometers, marking Riyadh’s commitment to efficient city transit.

The project was launched at the Future Investment Initiative (FII8) Conference, featuring partnerships with CRRC (Hong Kong) Co. Limited, CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Co. Ltd., and Hassan Allam Construction Saudi. The Monorail System consists of six autonomous trains running on a circular track, with six stations strategically located throughout the district.

Stephen Thomas, Chief Operations Officer of KAFD DMC, noted the Monorail System’s role in advancing quality of life for Riyadh’s residents and visitors. He emphasized the global trend toward sustainable urban mobility, with a strong outlook for public transportation growth.

Capable of accommodating up to 3,500 passengers hourly during peak periods, this monorail initiative not only supports Riyadh’s environmental goals but also establishes KAFD as a leader in future-focused urban mobility solutions.
