Korean Woojin Industrial Systems unveiled a prototype hydrogen train. The project to create such a train has been underway in the country since 2018, investments in it have already exceeded $20 million, while the state has compensated $17.5 million, Railway Supply magazine reports with reference to Rollingstock.

The train is equipped with an intelligent energy management system in addition to a 1.2 MW hybrid traction system. In addition, a fixed filling station was established, and a plan and draft standards for the development of an appropriate filling infrastructure for rail transport were developed.

Also at the end of December, the Chinese CRRC introduced its first hydrogen train for urban transport. Earlier in 2022, 4 more full-scale samples of hydrogen-powered multiple unit rolling stock were presented.
