The Kazakh transport company SilkwayTransit has purchased four TEM14 shunting locomotives. Sinara Transport Machines (STM) holding delivered locomotives to the Kazakh company in June 2021.

Four new TEM14 shunting locomotives will be used to operate at the Dostyk-Alashankou border crossing, which is currently the busiest border crossing on the New Silk Road, reports Railway Supply magazine, citing STM.

This is not the first time that STM has supplied equipment to Kazakhstan. During 2020 alone, the company supplied eight shunting diesel locomotives to the country’s metallurgical enterprises.

Since 2007 STM has supplied 46 diesel locomotives of the TEM7A, TEM9, TEM14, TGM4B, TGM6D series, more than 80 track machines and 246 hopper wagons to Kazakhstan.
