Despite missile strikes and power outages, grain transportation by rail continues. This was discussed during a meeting of railway workers with representatives of the grain transportation market on Thursday, December 8, Railway Supply reports with reference to Rail.insider.
For 7 days of December, 570 thousand tons of grain were loaded. In the total loading, the share of grains amounted to 28.3%. The average daily load was 81 thousand tons. In the first week of December, there was a slight subsidence due to the fact that on December 5 there was a attack on the energy system. Businesses and the railway had problems with electricity. However, the situation is gradually stabilizing and, for example, already on December 7, 100 thousand tons of grain were loaded.

Difficult situation with energy supply in the port of Odessa. Resources of the Odessa port are 444 wagons, but 93 wagons are unloaded. A limit has been set, which is used by several enterprises (terminals) in turn. There are certain problems with the delivery of goods to the ports in the Odessa hub, but all enterprises in the ports are supplied with the help of diesel locomotives.
A somewhat difficult situation is also with the transfer of wagons in the port of Izmail. However, according to the company, the weather conditions became the reason for this.
During the meeting, it was not the first time that businesses made appeals about the need to consider the issue of not charging Ukrzaliznytsia fees for demurrage of wagons if this happened due to a lack of electricity.
