Dual training of railway workers is being implemented in Slovakia
Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko (ZSSK) are implementing a dual education project in the academic year 2021/2022 in cooperation with several vocational schools, informs Railway Supply magazine citing information from ZSSK.

The project involves 4 schools located in Kosice, Poprad, Prievidze and Martin-Priekop. School graduates are allowed to participate in the program. The deadline for applications for the 2021/2022 academic year is March 31.
Upon graduation, students can apply for employment in such specialties as a train driver, an electrician, an electronic mechanic, a railcar inspector, and others.
Students are offered a monthly corporate scholarship ranging from € 40 for the first year of study to € 100 for the fourth year. In addition, it is possible to receive a salary, as well as help with housing and food. The costs associated with admission to training, in particular, medical examination, are paid by the employer.
As noted on the company’s website, thanks to dual education, students receive “professional education using modern technologies, which ends with a final exam; acquire theoretical and practical skills. ”
