CZ Loko to supply locomotives for PKP Intercity

Czech manufacturer CZ Loko will supply 10 new shunting locomotives to the Polish interregional passenger transport operator PKP Intercity. The value of the signed contract is 39 million zlotys net (almost 9 million euros). This is reported by the railway magazine Railway Supply with reference to raportkolejowy.pl

Diesel locomotives will be used for shunting operations and completing the carrier’s wagons on the sidings.

As part of the contract, CZ Loko will train the carrier’s employees to work with locomotives. The Czech manufacturer also provides a four-year rolling stock warranty.

The contract is designed for 24 months from the date of signing, and the delivery of the first locomotive will be made within 18 months.

In total, as part of the continuation of its development strategy, PKP Intercity plans to invest PLN 19 billion in modern rolling stock by 2030.
